// Game Over//

So 3 months of life changing experiences in Europe have come to and end and I’m now back home, feeling like a big fish in a small pond. Like a Tuna or a Dorado in the fountain of my garden. Things have changed back here in Cape Town, yet somehow it still feels the same. 3 months seem like a life time ago and yesterday all at once. I do however have plans to carry on my travels. Contrary to popular belief; the world is not a small place but our minds are. I am out to change that in myself. So hopefully I’m off to Gibraltar in October to meet up with the boat I just left, then head with them to Morocco and then the Caribbean. And then who knows. There are thoughts of hitch hiking through Central and South America at some point. There are thoughts of artist residencies in foreign lands. There are thoughts of even thoughts of starting a backpackers. Time wil tell.

I learnt more in the last 3 months about myself and the world than I ever would have dreamed and I strongly recommend anyone confused to throw themselves into a deep ocean and just try swimming. You’ll hit some islands - some paradise and some hell - but you will stay afloat.

// ANDORRA AND A JOB//

So it’s been a while and I’ve been a busy dude here in Spain. Mark returned from Boom Festival a while back, which was rad. He got a lift with a woman by the name of Astrid from Barca to Portugal. When they got back she invited Mark and myself for dinner. While there, she then asked us if we were interested in joining her and another guy, Dale, on a hiking trip to Andorra. It didn’t take us long to make a decision. We left the next day – Wednesday 8 August.

We were gone a total of 4 nights. It actually ended up helping me out with my visa situation, as it’s a principality and not part of the Schengen states, so I got an extra 4 days here in Spain.

The other good news is I got a job on a boat for the next month with Mike Louw, 40 minutes outside Barcelona. It’s a really sick boat with a decent crew. I’ll be working on it for a week here and then we’ll be heading to Palma on the boat on the 19th of August, where we’ll be for another week with the boss onboard. Then we should be heading back here to Barca. So I’m super, super stoked. Had to leave Markus behind in Barca which was a bleak moment but it had to happen some time. Who knows when we’ll see each other again! Hopefully a while as it means we’ll have work!

So life is good. I’ve been lucky with everything I’ve done so far. It’s now getting to the time where I have to start thinking of future plans beyond the visa. They involve one of the following: Turkey, Gibraltar, Thailand or maybe home and then the Caribbean. We shall see.

Some photos from the camping trip:

First camp site, near an old church with the best view over the city:

Spent the night drinking up at the van before Mark and I ventured off into the wild to set up hammocks and tents. We were about 5 years old every night when the son went down. Acutally maybe the whole time. 5 Year old brothers.

The view from the tent:

Then we hiked for the day. Mad hiking.

White peaches. Best.

Second night camp site:

Spent the last two nights sleeping here. Ya.

Lunch at the restaurant. Lamb.

// The Crack Den//

Just some photos from where I was staying in Palma, nick-named the crack den. I’ll leave that to your imagination.

// Spenx on the Decks Meets Valquest//

Mark and I had some more day work yesterday and today on a boat called Valquest. Do yourself a favour and check out how these high rollers actually live on these things. The images below are some of mine and then the rest are from another site (HERE).
